Stagers

Stagers Open House Big Success!!

Home stagers can become a real estate agent's greatest ally in a slow housing market.

Real estate agents don't make any money until a home sells, so they become desperate for their clients' homes to stand apart from competing properties. And to make things even worse, the longer an agent carries a listing, the more it costs them in marketing fees.

Savvy real estate agents are recommending home staging to their clients more frequently, as a way to draw attention to their listings and to sell homes faster-thereby reducing, if not eliminating, the need for price reductions. This is important for a real estate agent because as the listing price on one of their properties dwindles, so does their commission pay out.

There was a time when buyers and sellers were totally dependent on real estate agents but those days are long gone.

Approximately 70% of prospective home buyers in the United States and 90% in Canada browse properties online before they ever call an agent to help them buy a home. Now that the public can access MLS listings and shop from the photos they see online, it's even more critical than ever for properties to show well in those listing photographs. If the interior photos are not good, the agents won't even get a request set up a house showing.

Home staging makes all the difference in how rooms look both online and in the real world and more and more real estate agents are finally catching on to that.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
I need ideas on how to word an advertisement on Craigslist for Home Stagers?
I need help with finding someone to live in my home while I am trying to sell it. The house is a 500K home in Texas. The stagers will pay rent but at a reduced price. I want to find the right type of people for this so can you help me word the ad? THANKS!

    • ANSWER:
I would reccomend renting your home to either an Interior designer or
      Real Estate Agent.

  2. QUESTION:
Do real estate "home stagers" ever park luxury cars in the driveway to make homes look more desirable?
I'm wondering if home staging professionals ever seek to park flashy, expensive cars in the driveways of high-end homes in order to make the properties look even more upscale and desirable to potential buyers. Is this ever done? If so, how do they procure the vehicles to park there? From dealers? Car companies?

    • ANSWER:
I have been in real estate for 32 years. Staging is thought to help the home show better- not to pull attention away from the house. A car of any kind parked in front of a house blocks part of the view and does not help sell the house.
